Artists: Ci Demi, Umut Toros

Mixer brings together two artists from different mediums, Ci Demi and Umut Toros, at the exhibition Beyond the Landscape between February 4 and April 1, 2023.

Focusing on the intersection of works by two artists who are inspired by different disciplines, the exhibition takes different perspectives into urban and natural sceneries and offers a union that encompasses both. The artists feature natural and urban sceneries via their lenses and compositions and focus on issues that nourish one another in different practices through the possibilities of their mediumof production. Ci Demi's works present an autobiographical mapping of existence through the lens of Istanbul, utilizing intricate details, scenes, and views of the city to create a unique and personal narrative. Conversely, Umut Toros abstracts urban objects and landscapes, producing works during his journeys without the aid of a map. Both artists' works are united by a common thread of urban remains in nature, abandoned places, and destroyed views, which serve as a simultaneous psycho-geographical reading of their oeuvres
