Blended
The collage technique that derived from the French word ‘le colle (gluing)’ have been introduced to the art world with cubism and developed with the subsequent Dadaist movement. The technique, which freed the artist, shifted the boundaries in the process of experience and creation, has remained popular to the present day. The definition of the traditional collage based on the principles of cutting and pasting materials such as paper and photography in a simple sense in the early years, disappeared and raised a new question in contemporary art; “What is a collage now?”, “Is every mix media collage?” or vice versa.
The ''Blended'' exhibition invites you to discuss these questions about the collage artworks of the artists who produce with plenty of different materials. In the exhibition, the artworks are presented in many ways of thinking and forms such as paper, ceramic, video and fabric.
