Open Call: Mixer Sessions IV

Since the day one, besides making art accessible, Mixer’s main mission is to support young artists and provide guidance in their careers. With this aim it opens a platform for the young artists to represent themselves at ‘Mixer Sessions’ exhibition. Mixer Sessions was first launched in July 2016. With its fourth edition this year, Mixer invites senior year, master degree and doctoral degree students from universities’ art faculties to prove their artistic freedom with applications until April 13th, 2019. The selected art works will be exhibited between June 14-August 4, 2019. Application evaluation and curatorial support will be done by Mixer team and will be announced from Mixer’s official website and social media accounts.

In order to help artists create their portfolios, Portfolio Preparation Workshops will be held. You can follow the dates of the events from our social media platforms.

You need to fill in the application form and send the application pdf file to info@mixerarts.com with the title ‘Mixer Sessions IV Application‘ until April 13, 2019 ,Saturday 23.00.

Before filling in the application form and prepare the necessary pdf file, please read the Application Conditions.

 Application Conditions:

  • Applications are open for senior year, master degree and doctoral degree students from art faculties and related departments.

  • Artists need to apply with their own, original artworks. Artists are responsible for the originality of their artworks.   

  • Artworks are not limited to any mediums/disciplines.

  • The applications by artists who has been displayed in previous editions of Mixer Sessions will not be evaluated.

 Content of the Application File and Points to Consider during Preparation

  • Biography (Turkish and English, 3rd person)

  • Portfolio (at least 3 artwork images )

  • Artist Statement (Turkish and English, 3rd person)

  • Images and statement of the artwork that you want to exhibit. We recommend the texts about the artwork/series simple and understandable.

  • The images of the suggested artwork/series need to be in good quality.

  • The tag information of the artwork needs to be as follows:

    Ex: Name of the Artist, Name of the Artwork, Dimensions, Technique (if available number of editions), Year. The tags needs to be both in Turkish and English.

  • You can send Video & Sound Art applications through a web link or WeTransfer.

  • All of the needed documents should be submitted as one pdf document with a maximum size of 10 MB. Documents over 10MB will not be evaluated.

  • Active e-mail adress and phone numbers should be added in the application form.
