Rugül Serbest, who uses her own body as a form in her paintings, emphasizes women's social status, identity, and image of women in her works. Reaching assets other than her own, through her own body Rugül Serbest internalizes it with her art, whose works reflect the women living in modern society. The gaze of these women focuses on the audience and asks questions but does not wait for answers. It is tough, cold, and distant. Rugül Serbest, who reflects a different woman in each composition, internalizes the person she depicts. She reflects the body language and mood of those women, but she does not disguise herself, she becomes her. She exhibits “The Other” however it is also herself.
